Coffee with history
From green coffee beans for roasting at home in the frying pan in the 19th century to today’s popular product, instant coffee, the CAFEA Group has a fascinating and compelling history to look back on. Since 1955, the core company, DEK, has established itself as a market leader in instant coffee. CAFEA companies now produce and distribute all successful coffee specialities on the market today.
Strong subsidisries
Renowned distributors and manufacturers are brought together under the CAFEA banner. Company cornerstones include instant coffees, drinking chocolates and other instant drinks, including products based on grain and chicory. The CAFEA subsidiaries are primarily based in Germany, but can also be found in Russia, Poland, the USA, the UK and Belgium.
CREMILK produces coffee, tea and chocolate drinks based on a natural product, milk. It’s also used in baby formula and tasty nutritional supplement drinks.
FFI NY handles and supplies the North American market.
Our production company in Skawina, near Krakow, produces instant grain- and chicory-based drinks.
The Hamburg-based company is a leading manufacturer of organic and fair-trade-certified products.

Everyone is talking about sustainability. But lip service is no longer enough. It is time for words to be followed by deeds. All too often, companies are quick to adorn themselves with green laurels, but carry on with ‘business as usual’ in their day-to-day dealings.
DEK has had its sustainability activities evaluated objectively by external providers since 2021. The central objectives are measurability, transparency and credibility with customers and service providers. But also your own progress and the continuous identification of improvement potentials is a significant driver.
ECOVADIS is one of the leading providers of sustainability monitoring in global supply chains. Their work focuses on scientific data in accordance with international sustainability standards (Global Reporting Initiative, United Nations Global Impact, ISO 26000).
Also in 2023 the activities of the DEK were certified and awarded a silver medal.
